Introduction

We aim to cater for the needs of all visitors in our home based 11 bedroom guest house. The following is a summary of what we provide. If you have any questions please feel free to e-mail or call us and we will try to help.

Pre-Arrival

  • The bus station is at the far end of town about one and a half miles away. There is a taxi rank nearby.
  • The main train station is a 5 minute walk.
  • There is a local taxi service and we can make a booking for you if required.

  • Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
  • On arrival at the property there is a single gate.
  • No private parking but there is ample room for all cars on the quiet road outside. From the front gate there are 14 steps to the front door.
  • We can assist guests with luggage.
  • The near end of town is about a 10 minute walk from the guest house.
  • Main Entrance & Reception
  • The front door is locked at all times and guests are provided with a key.
  • Due to the age of the building and the steps we are not wheelchair accessible but we are always happy to help anyone with limited mobility.
  • On entry into our house there is a hallway with seating provided.
  • Public Areas - General (Internal)
  • Corridors have a good colour contrast and are well lit.
  • The flooring on all corridors and stairs is carpet.
  • The dining room and 2 bedrooms are on the ground floor. There are 15 stairs to the first floor followed by a further 17 stairs to the top floor.
  • Dog water bowl and food bowl are available on request.
  • Public Areas - WC
  • 10 bedrooms are en-suite but the 11th (single room) has shower & basin in the room & separate private w.c. just outside on the landing. There is a w.c.on the ground floor for general use.
  • Dining Room
  • Breakfast is served in the dining room on the ground floor. There are no steps.
  • Furniture is flexible and can be moved on request.
  • Laundry
  • Service available on request (ask for details).
  • Lounge
  • There is a small sun lounge overlooking the front garden with a computer for guests' use.
  • Bedrooms
  • There are 11 bedrooms, two on the ground floor, six on the first floor and three on the top floor.
  • Bathroom, Shower-room & WC [En-suite or Shared]
  • All en-suite bathrooms have w.c, shower and basin. The three top floor rooms have w.c, basin and bath with shower over.
  • Grounds and Gardens
  • We have a small enclosed garden (flower border & lawn) where guests can sit.
  • Additional Information
  • Assistance dogs are welcomed.
  • Mobile phone reception is generally good on most networks.
  • We are able to use front and back doors in the need of evacuation. The fire alarm rings continuously if evacuation is needed. If you require more assistance for evacuating please notify us on arrival and we will ensure that you are evacuated safely.
  • We supply a small fridge in all the bedrooms which can be used for medication /food. We can put larger items in our fridge on request (not available 24 hours)
